What counts as a question
Asking something, or submitting an attempt to be checked. Both are a full model call, so both count against the daily five.
Generating practice from an answer you already have counts as one too. Re-reading your history, replaying an AI Teacher lesson, or looking at your dashboard costs nothing — those are already-produced work.
When the free tier resets
Midnight UTC, every day. Not a rolling twenty-four hours from your first question, which is the version that leaves people guessing when they can next ask.
Why five
Enough to work through a real homework problem properly — ask, get it wrong, have your working checked, and practise — rather than enough to sample the interface and hit a wall.
If five a day is not enough, you are using it the way it was designed to be used, and Starter lifts the limit for $14.99. There is no annual lock-in and no card needed to start.
Cancelling
Handled through Stripe's own portal from your account page — payment method, invoices, and cancellation. Cancel and you keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for, then drop back to the free tier. Your history is not deleted.
