Features

Six things it does, and one it refuses to

Homeworkify is built around a single idea: you should end up able to solve the next one on your own. Every feature below is measured against that, which is also why one obvious feature is deliberately missing.

Ask — the method, one step at a time

You describe where you are stuck. The answer comes back as numbered steps rather than a paragraph, because a paragraph lets you skim to the last line and a numbered method does not.

Steps appear as they are written rather than all at once. That is not a loading animation — the explanation is generated live, and watching it build is closer to watching someone work than receiving a finished page.

Every step carries a confidence rating. High, medium, or low. An AI that is unsure about step four and says so is more useful than one that sounds equally certain throughout, because you know which line to check first.

Technical terms are underlined. Hover or tap one and you get a definition in place, without leaving the explanation to search for it.

Check My Working — the one that matters most

You submit your own attempt. Homeworkify marks it and finds the first place your working diverges from a correct method.

Not "here is the right answer" — the specific line where it went wrong, what kind of mistake it was (a dropped sign, an arithmetic slip, the wrong rule, a unit error), and what to fix.

It also tells you what still counts. If your later steps follow correctly from an earlier slip, it says so — because that is how exams are marked, and a student who lost one mark should not be left thinking they lost five.

The correction explains what to change at that step and stops there. It does not finish the problem for you. That is the entire point: you redo it.

Being wrong about this is the worst thing we can do. Telling you your correct work is wrong would destroy your trust in every other verdict, so Homeworkify will say "I'm not certain about step 3" rather than guess. An uncertain verdict is never presented as a confident one, and never counts towards your statistics.

AI Teacher — a lesson, not another answer

Sometimes the problem is not the question, it is the topic. Ask for a lesson on a concept and you get a short explainer built scene by scene, with the diagram drawn as it is explained.

Every subject has its own visual: force diagrams for physics, derivations revealed line by line for maths, balanced equations for chemistry, labelled figures for biology, a trace table for computer science, and an argument map for writing.

Diagrams are drawn from coordinates and numbers, never copied from anywhere. You can pause on any scene, replay a single step, and jump between them.

Practice, generated from your own answer

Once you have an explanation, Homeworkify can generate practice problems built on that exact method, ordered easiest to hardest. Not a random worksheet — the same idea, from three angles, so you find out whether you actually have it.

A dashboard that knows how you are doing

Your activity, which subjects you spend time on, how confident the explanations you receive have been, and which topics you keep returning to.

The most useful panel is the one no stateless chatbot can build: the mistakes you repeat. Sign errors in physics, unit slips in chemistry — counted across everything you have submitted, with the denominator shown so you can judge the claim yourself.

A pattern is only named once it has happened at least three times. One bad day is not a habit, and being told it is would be both wrong and discouraging.

History, and everything kept

Every question, answer, practice set, and marked attempt stays in your account. If an explanation was wrong, you can flag it, and that flag is recorded against the answer.

What it refuses to do

Homeworkify does not unlock, scrape, or reproduce content from Chegg, Course Hero, Bartleby, or any other paywalled study service. Paste a link to one and it will decline and ask for the question itself instead.

This is enforced in the code rather than promised in a policy: those domains are on a blocklist, and an automated check fails the build if any part of the codebase tries to reach them.
